The Great Vigil of Easter
The First Service of Resurrection
Saturday, April 20 at 8 PM
Starts on the Front Lawn
The Easter Vigil is the great watch at the tomb of Jesus Christ. Having experienced again the highs and lows of Holy Week, the Vigil invites us to wait and see what God has planned.
Beginning with the "Lighting of the New Flame," we read and pray--remembering God's amazing work of salvation throughout the ages: from creation to the Exodus, to a hill at Calvary.
Then, at the climax of the service, we will ring in Easter and celebrate the resurrection of Christ from the dead--the final defeat of Sin and Death forever. We will sing, pray, and share communion.
All are welcome and invited to attend this unique and powerful service. The service will also feature a scriptural interpretation by the Holy Trinity Dance Ensemble. This service is not to be missed!
Following the service, there will be a champagne and chocolate reception in the parish hall.
