Paul’s letter to the Galatians is a short but powerful book. Writing to the church in Galatia, Paul was addressing concerns about the faithfulness of Gentile Christians, being encouraged to take on the traditions and expectations of Jewish Christians, namely circumcision.
Using this new demand, Paul talks about the power of the Law (the demands of the religious traditions and practices of the Jewish Christians) to change human life. Through this letter, Paul talks passionately about the proper distinction between the expectation and work of the Law, and the power and Good News of the Gospel.
FREEDOM is a three-week sermon series looking at this distinction between Law and Gospel and clinging to the good news of our salvation, justification, and transformation through the finished work of Jesus Christ. We’ll hear why this “freedom” Paul talks about is so powerful and such good news for tired, overworked, and struggling people. Join us as we journey through this book together!
